For several years, the scheme had been affected by repeated dumping of waste in and around the bin store. This caused bins to overflow, made access difficult and left many residents feeling frustrated. The issue was particularly challenging for older residents who rely on clear, safe access to shared facilities.

After residents raised their concerns, the issue was reviewed and passed to our Estate Services team.
Clay from the team arranged for contractors to attend straight away to clear the waste. This helped restore access to the bin store and improved the look and feel of the area.
To stop the problem from returning, a weekly bulk waste collection was also introduced. This means waste can now be managed more effectively, with regular checks to prevent build-up before it becomes an issue.
Since these changes were put in place, residents have reported a clear and lasting difference. Bins are now easier to access and there is more space available between collection days.
One resident shared their experience:
“We would like to thank whoever brought about the end of fly tipping at Gulliver Court. We are very grateful. It is the first time in years we have been able to consistently get to our bins and, by Friday, there is still room available before the Monday collection. Thank you so much for dealing with this. It makes such a difference.”
This work shows how quick action, strong contractor management and regular services can make a positive difference to customers’ daily lives.
